These small pork patties cook faster than the larger burger patties, but they still need a cooked centre. I use a moderate pan so the maple version does not scorch.
Get the pan ready
Thaw the 50g patties in the refrigerator. Remove the wrapping and separators, then pat away excess surface moisture. Heat a heavy pan over medium heat with a wiped film of neutral oil.
Turn without flattening
Lay the patties flat with space around them. Allow approximately 3–4 minutes per side, or around 6–10 minutes total depending on thickness. Turn again or lower the heat if needed. Do not press the patties to make them cook faster.
For the air fryer, arrange a single layer at 180°C, turn halfway and begin checking after about 6 minutes. Allow roughly 6–10 minutes as a starting range. Watch sweet maple patties carefully.
Check the middle
Insert a thin probe sideways into the centre. Raw ground pork must reach at least 71.1°C (72°C on a whole-degree display). A brown edge is not enough. Rest about two minutes once cooked.
Serve the regular or maple patties in a toasted muffin with an egg, or beside tomatoes and mushrooms. The cooking times for the 150g pork burger are longer; use the main burger guide for those.
